earlier today and what they were requesting from the white house was let's fix this problem by incorporating a small businesses and less government intervention to curb the deficit. it has been astronomical. then i heard barack obama say the way we are going to do it is by making more cuts in various ways. he was saying by making more cuts and the only people it is going to hurt is the working class and somewhat of the middle-class. he should mention the fact that out of control spending has a lot to do with the credit card crunch. specifically because of the middle-class. i think if we get those tax cuts centered with them, i do not think the poll would be affected. you have these small companies that are developing, and he is saying have those small companies hire more people and get them involved, but come consumer expenditures. that is partially i think a solution. host: you are calling on the republican line and you think hillary clinton would make a good candidate. would you vote for her in 2016? caller: i think she would be a very vital aspect to the political process. a

[video clip] >> we have a debt problem out of control. we have to cut spending. the revenues we are putting on the table will come from -- guess who -- the rich. there are ways to limit deductions, close loopholes, and have the same people pay more of their money to the federal government without raising tax rates which we believe will harm the economy. host: we are taking your calls this morning on whether members of congress and the presidential compromise or stick to their principles. brian is next from massachusetts on the independent line. caller: good morning. i think the republicans and democrats -- medicare is not paying for itself. it is costing us more than what we pay into it. if you make $1,000, they take $100 of of your medicare. if the big 2000, take

, there was tom hartman, allen colmes and a lot of people who the white house left out of that meeting and in terms of who they put up and put out. media put out the story without doing their homework. >> there was a column by george will, bewitched by obama, even jonathan swift who said that promises and pie crusts are made to be broken and marvelled at the limited shelf life of a barack obama's promise of balanced debt reduction plan. is there any media pressure on the white house? >> there's no media pressure on the white house to explain any of this. in watching this and talking about the pr and how the press is covering the pr especially out of the white house democrats. and the republicans don't have a coherent messenger, what i find fascinating is that the press doesn't cover why obama is doing what he's doing and gets to your point, john. there's an assumption that the president doesn't want to go over the fiscal cliff like the republicans don't. and i think that's the wrong assumption. i think the president does want to go over the fiscal cliff and yet, there's no coverage of that
